Funeral for Prashant

Unfortunately, one of our YNJ tower controllers, Prashant, or PJ as he was known to many of us, had been suffering from an uncurable form of lukemia for some time now. His distinct eastern accent was always recognizable, and his happy accomodation of all our requests will always be appreciated and remembered. Sadly, he commited suicide last weekend.

His funeral will be held on Saturday December 29th at Woodlawn Funeral Home at 2pm in Abbotsford.

Management change at Langley Airport

Management of Langley Regional Airport is to revert to the Township.

Information released on Monday from an Oct. 22 in camera meeting reveals that council is seeking to hire one full-time and one part-time employee to manage the airport.

It is currently run under contract to Avcon Consulting, which is owned by current airport manager George Miller. He runs the airport with his son, Guy. Both are pilots.

The senior Miller has been the driving force behind the airport’s success, attracting dozens of businesses.
